Cycling Safaris

Guests are often faced with exercise frustration on safari because there is not enough physical activity on a normal safari program. Many game areas are restricted to vehicle game drives because they are in National Parks.

Mashatu, in Botswana, offers rugged mountain biking as an optional additional activity. This mountain biking trail has added safari excitement to their daily program. A trail ride normally stretches over a few hours from the cool sunrise and the riders are supported by a safari vehicle for break downs and a tea stop. The spontaneous route takes adventurous riders along meandering elephant paths that undulate with the rolling basalt hills and hidden valleys.

Some guests have become so addicted to the physical joy and freedom of safari biking that Eco Logical has created an exclusive mountain bike safari!

Using two aeroplanes (one for people, the other for luggage and bikes), we fly to a collection of contrasting and remarkable wilderness destinations across ten exciting days including Mashatu Tented Camp, Muhuyu Camp, the Matobo Hills & Victoria Falls.

Inclusive of all meals, accommodation, good standard mountain bikes, pilot/guide throughout, air & road transfers (as specified) this trip costs out at US$14,200 per person sharing (2012 rates).
